Reblogging Ethics

mascarah:

I dislike when people reblog/note/whatever and cut out the originator. To me it is unethical and rude to your fellow tumblrers.

It was my ex-boyfriend who is Irish and so damn funny (and cute!), not yours. And most of you are men, and straight. So you’d probably be better served in giving me credit with your female readers.

This is just one example, this happens often. And I don’t like it. Citing your source, journalism ethics 101.

To those who always give credit where credit is due, thank you! You’re awesome. And to anyone who I’ve cut out, ever, it was an accident. And I’m sorry.

Doesn’t tumblr automatically credit?

One more addition to the list of Rules. Makes sense though.

I believe it’s that her ex-boyfriend is Irish who does not have U.S. Citizenship status—he’s still an Irish citizen.

I think it’s ex-boyfriend (that is Irish) - not boyfriend that used to be Irish….I had to read it a couple times, too.

    ex-Irish but still illegal?

    re-blog button… it’s...the originator (even when I re-blog a re-blogged item).
